To support autistic people, I use various tools that help me address present difficulties and past traumas.

SACCADE (MC)

SACCADE MC is a neurodevelopmental model of guidance from Canada (saccade.ca) develop by Brigitte Harrisson, an autistic person, and Lise Saint-Charles, an autism specialist.

A fair vision of autism

This model offers a fair and compassionate definition of autism, closely aligned with the experience of autistic people: a perceptual functioning (vs. interpretative functioning, which is predominant in society), associated with an internal collapse that varies in intensity from one autistic person to another (see The Autism of Autistic People).

A cognitive and educational remediation tool

In addition to a more precise definition of autism, SACCADE MC has developed a cognitive and educational remediation tool for guidance, the SACCADE MC Conceptual Language (LSC MC).

This graphical tool helps autistic people:
– Increase self-awareness, facilitating body perception, internal sensations including emotions, and initiative;
– Improve cognitive flexibility and information processing speed;
– Integrate the meaning of information, particularly abstract concepts.

A communication tool

LSC MC is also a tool that enables communication with autistic people who cannot express themselves verbally in a comprehensible manner, giving them the opportunity to expand their cognitive development, often hindered by an inadequate learning system.

Guidance with SACCADE

Individual support with the SACCADE MC model allows autistic people to:

  • Understand who they are and how they function;
  • Understand the environment they evolve in while respecting their worldview (I do not seek to change them but to help them understand how they perceive the world and how others perceive it, so these two perspectives can align if both parties are open to one another);
  • Find respectful strategies to adapt with minimal anxiety and energy cost.

The LSC MC, which I use in every session to facilitate dialogue, positively influences the developmental trajectory of autistic people, regardless of age or autistic condition. This model reduces anxiety and improves the quality of life for autistic people.

PSYCH-K ®

Originating from the United States, the PSYCH-K ® method helps autistic people and others free yourself from fears and blockages at the subconscious level in a safe manner (people I support retain control over your choices throughout the guidance).

This method offers the possibility to ease past. Freed from limiting beliefs, people can more easily achieve their personal and professional goals.

By reaching a state of peace regarding certain negative situations, people also allow their body to return to an optimal state of health.

Applications of PSYCH-K ®

  • Stress, anxiety, fears, psychological blockages
  • Traumatic events (harassment, post-traumatic stress…)
  • Personal development (self-confidence, public speaking…)
  • Chronic illnesses or pain
  • Traumatic accidents
  • Reactive responses (“allergies”)
  • Addictions (alcohol, sugar, tobacco, cannabis…)
  • Dietary imbalances

EFT

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is an emotional soothing method that helps, among other things, to assist people in freeing themselves from their phobias.

This technique, which stimulates acupuncture points on the body through tapping, calms the amygdala — the brain’s centre for regulating “strong” emotions, particularly fear. The amygdala becomes intensely and irrationally activated when faced with a phobic object or situation.

The results are often rapid, even if the origin of the phobia is not found: just a few EFT sessions can significantly reduce the intensity of fears and phobias, especially if the phobia is simple (such as the fear of spiders).

I often use EFT in cases of social phobia in autistic individuals.

EFT also helps reduce pain, particularly chronic pain. I combine it with the PSYCH-K® method to identify and release the psychological origin of the pain.
